Friday FUN Nights - the antidote to serious bridge

Friday FUN Nights allow the successful Dido format to be experienced by those members who don?t wish to take their bridge too seriously but nevertheless appreciate playing fast, fair, competitive bridge. Friday FUN Nights Room operate every Friday Night till the last player leaves the room along the following lines:

·         All events use the DIDO movement so that one meets and plays against as many other club members as possible

·         Every other week it will be a Friday FUN COUPLES Night (ie Match-pointed Pairs by any other name)

·         And the other weeks will be Friday FUN SINGLES Nights (ie an Indy by any other name)

·         Friday FUN Points are issued for both events, a minimum of 18 boards will need to be played to qualify for the Leaderboards and a continual 'decaying' Ladder will operate as with the Dido Tourney in the Daily Room

·         All scoring is Match Pointed Pairs scoring and will be based solely on 'adjusted' scores depending on the PPIs of all the members at the table

·         However, personal PPIs will be unaffected by any hands played on Friday FUN Nights

·         On 'Couples' Nights you will be able to choose whom you partner and will play 4 boards a round and play as many rounds as you wish with any partner

·         On 'Singles' Nights your partner will be chosen for you but will be selected as 'system compatible' and you will play 3 boards a round with each randomly-chosen partner

·         'System compatible' means that SAYC players will only be teamed up with SAYC-playing partners and likewise members playing Acol-based systems only will be paired with Acol-playing partners according to what is included on your Profile. If no systems are ticked on your Profile the the Server won?t be able to find you a partner

·         For ease of understanding 'Simple System Disclosure' or SSD will operate on the Fun Couples Nights

·         There will be no OMPs issued on Friday FUN Nights

Friday FUN Nights are designed to appeal to all BCL members but particularly to our less experienced players.
